Maatatahay

Tens of thousands of years ago, dozens of tribes lived on this fertile land. However, the tight resources induced conflicts among tribes, and the fighting became more and more severe. The "Wazu" and "Balan" clans are the two strongest tribes, possessing powerful force and advanced technology, and have survived after years of wars. Now, it’s time to witness the last battle in the Great Wilderness, where the countless martyrs had been buried. The winner will lead the fate of the great tribe and the continent. Now, let’s witness the Maatatahay.

Maatatahay is a two-player chess-like game lasting up to 30 minutes. It is played over up to 12 rounds on a 5x5 matrix game board. For each round, there are 3 combinations of cards from each side. The active player chooses one combination and the cards will be played on the game board respectively by the turn order which is made by the player who owns the card with the smallest value. Each card will be checked whether it survives after it has been enclosed orthogonally according to the strength of the card and other opponent cards adjacent to it. The player will win the game with the most victory point of the surviving card plus some extra bonus after the game ends. This is a highly strategic and in-depth thought game. Enjoy it!
