"Boardgames inspired by our wonderful world!" We believe in the potential of board games as social, educational and creative tools. We are a Swedish board game developer, publisher, & board game consultant agency. ION's vision is to design board games that both cover a broad range of subjects in history and natural science, and inspire a changed future. We want to be involved in creating real change, in an indirect and entertaining way. In our boardgames we value a link to reality/science/history, not only as a backdrop but also as a basis for game mechanic design. In our games we strive to achieve unscripted narrative experiences generated by the content and the players’ minds and interaction. In line with our vision to spread the wonderful world of board gaming experience to as many as possible, we also have a segment about collaborations, ION Venture. We will from time to time work with potential projects alongside our main labels through consultancy in (board) game design and development of games. Representation is important in all aspects of life, including when you play games. We aim to include an even mix of women, men and other gender identities when creating characters in our games. This can be seen in many of our games, for example Stationfall, Expedition Zetta, Pax Viking, Dawn on Titan and more. Ion Game Design condemns all expressions of visible and invisible discrimination, harassment, and racism in its many forms. The solution is bigger than the efforts of any single organisation, yet we believe businesses have a responsibility to help lead. Our goal is to contribute to a more accepting world by creating board games that inspire change, both now and in the future. Inspiring towards a world with less intolerance. By presenting themes that show episodes of history usually not remembered or purposely left out, we are hoping to bring a clearer perspective of the diversity that has always existed in this world. We want to be involved in creating real change, and our tool for doing so is used in an indirect and entertaining way. We encourage our partners and customers to do the same.
